The device does not have any switch. It turns on automatically when the power cable is connected to a 120 volt AC supply. It has a power rating of 710 Watts.
The current passes through the heat switch before going through the two heating elements.
Both the green and orange LED light up when the device is working. However, the heat switch opens if the temperature becomes very high (exceeds 165 degree Celsius).
Therefore, current stops flowing through the heating elements to prevent any accident.
When the fuse melts, only the orange LED will remain on , indicating that the heating elements have been shut off.
