  • We see three camera modules—but only two connectors to unplug? Guess we'll just yank the board out and see wha—oh. There's the third one, hiding underneath.

  • The motherboard itself isn't difficult to remove, but it seems slightly inelegant to require its removal for repairs to the primary camera. On the plus side though, this camera assembly now has our full attention.

  • Since we already saw the 13 MP ƒ/2.4 ultrawide (OmniVision’s CMOS OV13B10) in the Mi 10, the star of this show is the new 5 MP ƒ/2.4 telemacro (Samsung S5K5E9). (The 20 MP ƒ/2.2 selfie cam is a bit ordinary by smartphone standards.)

  • Telemacro offers interesting possibilities—capturing detailed closeups from a greater distance, and without blocking so much incoming light with the phone itself.

  • The Mi 11 is already the fifth Xiaomi phone featuring the 108 MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor—but newly improved AI should translate to better shots compared to the Mi 10.

  • The Mi 11 foregoes the typical telephoto module, so you get no optical zoom here—only a 30x digital one. Sounds like big numbers, but the more you zoom the more image quality will suffer as a result.

La placa madre en sí no es difícil de quitar, pero parece poco elegante que se requiera su extracción para reparar la cámara principal. Sin embargo, el lado positivo es que este conjunto de cámaras tiene ahora toda nuestra atención.

Dado que ya vimos la ultra ancha de 13 MP ƒ/2.4 (CMOS OV13B10 de OmniVision) en el Mi 10, la estrella de este espectáculo es la nueva telemacro de 5 MP ƒ/2.4 (Samsung S5K5E9). (La cámara selfie de 20 MP ƒ/2.2 es un poco ordinaria para los estándares de los smartphones).

El telemacro ofrece interesantes posibilidades: capturar primeros planos detallados desde una mayor distancia, y sin bloquear tanta luz entrante con el propio teléfono.

El Mi 11 es ya el quinto teléfono de Xiaomi que incorpora el sensor Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX de 108 MP, pero la nueva IA mejorada debería traducirse en mejores tomas en comparación con el Mi 10.

El Mi 11 prescinde del típico módulo de teleobjetivo, por lo que no tiene zoom óptico, sino uno digital de 30 aumentos. Suena a grandes cifras, pero cuanto más se amplíe el zoom, más se resentirá la calidad de la imagen.
