You can try to insert the plug in the jack and remove it again, maybe repeat a few times. If you are very lucky, this helps the contacts settle in the proper position and make the circuit. If it works, cheers – you are done! :-)

If it does not work after 3 or 4 times, I would not repeat it too often, it might make things worse. Maybe the other earpice stops working!
