the Battery is held in place by a bracket. ONE side of the bracket has a tab. Carefully insert either a small screwdriver or a needle to release the tab.

The tabs are plastic and are easily damaged if you use too much force or insert the bracket incorrectly. Take your time- this is a delicate old piece of technology that has no replacement parts available.
