  • Our friendship test is nearly finished, but let's fish out the final remaining components.

  • First on the hook is a second speaker along the top edge of the phone, doing double duty as both an earpiece speaker and a second loudspeaker for stereo sound in landscape mode.

  • This is not just an acoustical win, but also one for repairability! The structure-borne speaker driver we found in the Mate 30 Pro complicated display replacements. Nice to see that Huawei decided to omit this fancy (annoying) tech in the Mate 40 Pro.

  • The second catch is the tiny linear actuator vibration motor. Since we've still got all these iPhones laying around, here's a comparison:

  • The Mate 40 Pro's motor measures in at a puny 9.28 mm x 9.28 mm x 3.3 mm, making it just about half the size of the already-minuscule Taptic Engine from the iPhone 12 mini.

  • The last components in the net are a proximity sensor, a power and volume button cable, and one last interconnect cable.

Notre test d'amitié est presque fini, pêchons donc les derniers composants.

Le premier à mordre à l'hameçon est le second haut-parleur qui se trouve le long du bord supérieur du téléphone et revêt la double fonction de haut-parleur interne et de haut-parleur secondaire pour le son stéréo en mode paysage.

Il s'agit d'un plus non seulement en acoustique, mais aussi en réparabilité ! Le driver du haut-parleur intégré dans la structure, que nous avions trouvé dans le Mate 30 Pro, compliquait la réparation de l'écran. C'est sympa de voir que Huawei se passe ici de cette technologie raffinée (casse-pieds).

Notre deuxième capture est le minuscule moteur à vibrations linéaire. Comme nous avons tous les iPhone sous la main, faisons une comparaison :

Le moteur du Mate 20 Pro mesure modestement 9,28 mm x 9,28 mm x 3,3 mm. Cela fait la moitié du déjà minuscule Taptic Engine de l'iPhone 12 mini.

Les derniers composants dans nos filets sont un capteur de proximité, une nappe de boutons de marche et volume et une dernière nappe d'interconnexion.
