  • With all the easily replaceable parts out, we're down to the soldered-on bits.

  • First off are the two Foster-branded voice coil actuators driving the haptics system.

  • Did someone say pallesthesia?

  • And next: the two joysticks. These look basically identical to the Alps-brand sticks from the DualShock 4.

  • Compared to these, a Joy-Con joystick replacement is a breeze. PlayStation joysticks are certainly less prone to drift than the notoriously drifty Joy-Cons, but soldering them on is a big miss.

  • And finally, the USB-C port. Another high-wear component that we'd much prefer to see easily replaced.

Nu alle makkelijk te vervangen onderdelen uit de controller zijn verwijderd, komen we bij alle vastgesoldeerde onderdelen.

Als eerste komen de twee Foster "voice coil actuators", die het haptische systeem aandrijven, er vanaf.

Next up: de twee joysticks. Deze lijken vrijwel identiek aan de Alps-joysticks die we in de DualShock 4 vonden.

Vergeleken met deze joysticks is de Joy-Con joystickvervanging een makkie. PlayStation-joysticks zijn zeker weten minder vatbaar voor het beruchte wegglijden van de joystick dan de joy-cons, maar het vastsolderen van de joysticks is zeker een grote, grote misser, Sony..

En tot slot, de USB-C poort. Nog zo'n onderdeel dat veel wordt gebruikt, snel kan aftakelen, en dat we daarom ook graag makkelijker vervangen zouden zien worden.
