Orientation: The cage and the print head

  • This step is to orientate you to the parts involved.

  • Picture 1 shows the labels I've used in this guide. And yes, that plastic holder gave me a lot of grief. I had to rip out the cables in order to figure out how to remove it. DO NOT unplug your cables at this point!

  • Picture 2 shows how the dismantled cage will look like.

  • Picture 3 shows the print head. To be clear, the print head is actually just that metal bit. For this Epson L6170 Eco-tank printer, the print head has the nozzles attached to it.

  • If you're buying a replacement print head, you might want to take note that some sellers only sell the print head (which means you need to unscrew the nozzle attachment and use it for the new print head).

Orientation : La cage et la tête d'impression

Cette étape sert à vous orienter vers les pièces concernées.

L'image 1 montre les étiquettes que j'ai utilisées dans ce guide. Et oui, ce support en plastique m'a donné beaucoup de chagrin. J'ai dû arracher les câbles afin de comprendre comment l'enlever. NE débranchez PAS vos câbles à ce stade !

L'image 2 montre à quoi ressemblera la cage démontée.

L'image 3 montre la tête d'impression. Pour être clair, la tête d'impression n'est en fait que ce morceau de métal. Pour cette imprimante Epson L6170 Eco-tank, la tête d'impression est dotée de buses.

Si vous achetez une tête d'impression de remplacement, sachez que certains vendeurs ne vendent que la tête d'impression (ce qui signifie que vous devez dévisser la fixation de la buse et l'utiliser pour la nouvelle tête d'impression).
