  • With the watch gutted, we finally have access to the circular AMOLED, always-on display. Except, well, it's not on right now. Obviously.

  • Although it was a journey getting here, the final step in this display removal only takes a single finger to pop it free from its frame.

  • No surprise, the display itself is manufactured by Samsung Display. It pays to be your own customer!

  • Samsung was of course an early adopter of AMOLED tech in its mobile devices. But with Apple reportedly moving to microLED displays in the near future, it'll be interesting to see what happens next.

  • With that, it looks like we're out of time!

La montre est vidée de son contenu et nous avons enfin accès à l'écran AMOLED circulaire "always-on"(toujours allumé). Sauf qu'en ce moment il n'est pas "always-on". Evidemment.

C'était toute une expédition pour arriver jusqu'ici, mais l'étape finale du retrait d'écran ne requiert qu'un seul doigt pour libérer l'écran de son châssis.

Sans surprise, l'écran lui-même est fabriqué par Samsung Display. Etre son propre client comporte des avantages !

Samsung a très tôt adopté la technologie AMOLED dans ces appareils mobiles. Mais puisque Apple va dans un futur proche implémenter les écrans microLED, il sera intéressant de voir ce qui se passera après.

Et avec cela, il semblerait que l'on ait plus de temps !
