If your battery port happens to be corroded. Get a small cloth rag held with small needle nose pliers or tweezers and wipe it away.
For heavy amounts of corrosion use a little bit of vinegar on the cloth and use to remove. Wipe the vinegar away after with a clean and dry cloth.
Allow the battery terminal to sit open and dry for an hour or so if vinegar is used.
