Cut the Display Adhesive

  • Apply a suction cup to the display, near the middle of the right edge.

  • Pull up on the suction cup with firm, constant pressure to create a slight gap between the display and rear case.

  • If the screen is cracked, the suction cup may not stick. Try lifting it with strong tape, or superglue the suction cup in place and allow it to cure so you can proceed.

  • This may require a significant amount of force, but you only need to open a very slight gap with the suction cup to insert your tool.

  • If you have trouble, apply more heat to further soften the adhesive, and try again. The adhesive cools quickly, so you may need to heat it repeatedly.

  • Insert an opening pick (or playing card) into the gap you opened behind the display.

  • Do not insert the tool more than ~1.5 mm past the edge of the display.

Snijd de lijm onder het scherm door

Druk een zuignap op het scherm, in het midden van de rechterzijde.

Trek de zuignap met een stevige, constante kracht omhoog om zo een kleine opening te creëren tussen het scherm en de achterste behuizing.

Als je scherm gebarsten is, zal je zuignap zich niet goed vastzuigen. Beplak je scherm met doorzichtige tape of lijm je zuignap vast met secondelijm en probeer het dan nog eens.

Dit kan heel wat kracht vereisen, maar wees je ervan bewust dat je enkel een zeer kleine opening nodig hebt om je tool in te kunnen steken.

Als je moeite hebt met het creëren van de opening, gebruik je nog meer warmte en probeer je het nog eens. De lijm koelt snel weer af, dus het kan nodig zijn om deze stap meerdere malen te herhalen.

Steek een openingsplectrum (of speelkaart) achter het scherm in de zojuist door jou gecreëerde opening.

Steek je tool niet verder dan ~1.5 mm diep vanaf de zijkant van het scherm.
