Remove the Battery

  • Use an opening pick to steadily pry the battery up, starting from the outer edge of the battery.

  • You may need to reheat and reapply the iOpener repeatedly to further soften the adhesive. The adhesive is tough and it may take a few tries to get the pick started under the battery. If the battery begins bend out of shape, apply more heat or isopropyl alcohol and pry slower.

  • Try your best not to deform the battery during this process. Soft-shell lithium-ion batteries can leak dangerous chemicals, catch fire, or even explode if damaged. Do not use excessive force or pry at the battery with metal tools.

  • Remove the battery.

  • Reinstalling a damaged or deformed battery is a safety hazard. Replace it with a new battery.

  • During reassembly, remove any remaining tape under the battery and clean any residual adhesive with isopropyl alcohol. If you are reusing the screen assembly, apply new precut battery adhesive or high-strength double-sided tape to the battery well before pressing the new battery into place.

Enlever la batterie

Avec un médiator, faites fermement levier sur la batterie, en commençant par le bord extérieur de la batterie.

Il se peut que vous deviez refaire chauffer et réappliquer l'iOpener plusieurs fois pour ramollir assez l'adhésif. Celui-ci est tenace et il vous faudra peut-être quelques essais avant de pouvoir insérer le médiator sous la batterie. Si la batterie se déforme, appliquez plus de chaleur ou d'alcool isopropylique et faites levier plus doucement.

Faites de votre mieux pour ne pas déformer la batterie lors de cette manipulation. Une batterie lithium-ion à carapace molle abîmée peut laisser s'échapper des substances toxiques, prendre feu, voire même exploser. Ne forcez pas et n'utilisez pas d'outils métalliques pour faire levier sur la batterie.

Ôtez la batterie.

Réutiliser une batterie éventuellement endommagée ou déformée est dangereux. Remplacez-la par une neuve.

Lors du remontage, ôtez les résidus d'adhésif sous la batterie et nettoyez-les avec de l'alcool isopropylique. Si vous réutilisez l'écran, posez les bandes adhésives prédécoupées ou du ruban adhésif double-face solide dans le compartiment de la batterie avant de poser celle-ci et d'appuyer dessus pour la faire adhérer.
