Removing a stuck battery (alternate method)

  • If your battery is stuck and an appropriate liquid solvent is not available, prepare an iOpener or use a hair dryer to heat the rear case directly behind the battery.

  • Heat the iPhone until the rear case is slightly too hot to comfortably touch, but no more.

  • Flip the iPhone back over and thread a strong piece of string (such as dental floss) underneath the battery.

  • Wear gloves to protect your fingers, or wrap each end of the string around a tool.

  • Pull the string from side to side in a sawing motion to separate the adhesive. This can take some time since the adhesive is slow to deform, but with patience it will come free. Do not deform or damage the battery.

  • Start from the top or bottom edge of the battery, and pull toward the middle. Don't pull the string through the middle third of the battery, or you may damage the ribbon cables or the wireless charging coil directly underneath.

  • If you choose to use pry tools to lift the battery out of the iPhone, use extreme caution or you may damage the ribbon cables or the wireless charging coil directly underneath the battery.

Alternativmethode zum Entfernen eines festhängenden Akkus

Wenn dein Akku noch festhängt und du kein geeignetes Lösungsmittel zur Hand hast, dann kannst du auch das Rückgehäuse mit einem iOpener oder einem Haartrockner direkt am Akku erwärmen.

Erwärme das iPhone nur so weit, dass es sich gerade nicht mehr anfassen lässt - aber auf keinen Fall mehr.

Drehe das iPhone herum, und ziehe einen starken Faden (z.B. Zahnseide) unter dem Akku entlang.

Schütze deine Finger mit einem Handschuh oder wickle die Enden des Fadens um ein Werkzeug.

Führe den Faden mit einer sägenden Bewegung von Seite zu Seite und trenne die Klebeverbindung auf. Da der Kleber schwer zu verformen ist, kann das einige Zeit dauern, mit etwas Geduld kann er aber doch aufgetrennt werden. Verforme oder beschädige den Akku auf keinen Fall.

Beginne an der Oberkante des Akkus und ziehe zur Mitte hin. Führe den Faden nicht über das mittlere Drittel des Akkus, du könntest sonst die Flachbandkabel oder die Drahtlos-Ladespule darunter beschädigen.

Wenn du mit Hebelwerkzeugen arbeitest, um den Akku aus dem iPhone hochzuheben, dann sei besonders vorsichtig und beschädige nicht die Flachbandkabel oder die Drahtlos-Ladespule direkt unter dem Akku.
