  • As for the keyboard, it's the same generation 3.5 butterfly switch design discovered in the earlier MacBook Pro refresh back in May.

  • Just like last time, this brand new MacBook Pro model is already included in Apple's Keyboard Service Program, along with the newly refreshed MacBook Air.

  • It's a little unclear whether Apple expects these keyboards to continue needing repairs, or if this is just their way of reassuring traumatized customers that it's okay to buy.

  • Rumor has it that Apple will soon pull the plug on the butterfly design for good, returning to more reliable scissor switches—so maybe it's a little from column AA, and a little from BB.

Wat het toetsenbord betreft, stuiten we op dezelfde generatie 3.5 butterfly switch-design als die we eerder in mei in onze MacBook Pro analyse ontdekten.

Net als de vorige keer is dit gloednieuwe MacBook Pro-model al opgenomen in Apple's Keyboard Service Programma, samen met de nieuwe MacBook Air.

Het is ons niet helemaal duidelijk of Apple al verwacht dat deze toetsenborden een hoop reparaties nodig zullen hebben, of dat ze op deze manier hun getraumatiseerde klanten gerust willen stellen bij het kopen van deze modellen.

Er gaan geruchten dat Apple binnenkort voorgoed de stekker uit het butterfly switch-design gaat trekken om terug te keren naar het meer betrouwbare scissor switch-design.
