  • Right, so, this is supposed to be a teardown, and unfolding it doesn't count. Time to pick a point of entry and go for it. Arm iOpeners!

  • Experience tells us that Samsung likes to build their phones from the front, and stick the back cover on last—so we start there.

  • Once again a little heat from our iOpener softens the glue up nicely, and we slice off the first of the two outside covers. We're in.

  • Samsung's usual curved glass covers, like the one we recently pulled off the Note 10+, can be stressful to pry under, so the flat point of entry here is a welcome relief.

Maar goed, dit zou een demontage moeten zijn, en het openvouwen van een toestel telt natuurlijk niet als een demontage. Het is dus de hoogste tijd om een plek te kiezen waar we naar binnen kunnen gaan en dan is het zo ver. Pak de iOpeners!

Ervaring leert ons dat Samsung ervan houdt om hun telefoons te bouwen beginnend vanaf de voorkant, zodat de achterkant er als laatste op wordt geplaatst. Dus dat is waar we beginnen.

Zoals altijd weet de zwoele warmte van onze iOpener de lijm bijzonder goed te verzachten, zodat wij de eerste van de twee buitenste panelen er vanaf kunnen halen.

Samsung's gewoonlijk gebogen glazen schermen, zoals degene die we recentelijk van de Note 10+ af trokken, kunnen bijzonder stressvol zijn om los te wrikken. We zijn daarom net even iets blijer nu we een vlakke ingang hebben gevonden.
