  • All that silicon, and yet this Go is fan-less and heatpipe-less. This thin copper shield and some thermal paste will have to do the heat sinking for this would-be PC. (Then again, you can always run it in a freezer...)

  • It's certainly a radical departure from those thick copper tentacles we found on the 5th-gen Pro, on the right. Hopefully it'll be enough for the Go's power-sipping, non-Turbo'd processor.

  • Now to pluck the final strings of this teardown. Such as: the Windows Hello camera, the 5 MP front-facing camera, and the 8 MP rear-facing camera (complete with piggybacked LED) all sitting in a row.

  • Finally, the modular microSDXC port with Realtek 5227S card reader controller—which is technically upgradable storage!

  • Not exactly the kind of upgradability we were hoping for, but we'll take what we can get.

Pur con tutto questo silicio, questo Go è privo di ventole e di tubi di calore. Questa sottile schermatura di rame e un po' di pasta termica si occupano di tutto il lavoro di dissipazione di calore di questo quasi-PC (anche se si può sempre farlo funzionare in un freezer...).

Si tratta certamente di un cambiamento radicale rispetto agli spessi tentacoli di rame che avevamo trovato sul Pro di quinta generazione, a destra. Speriamo che sia abbastanza per il processore poco affamato e non-turbo del Go.

E ora, gli ultimi pezzi dello smontaggio. Del tipo: fotocamera di riconoscimento facciale Windows Hello, fotocamera anteriore da 5 MP, fotocamera posteriore da 8 MP (completa di LED soprastante), il tutto disposto in fila.

Alla fine, ecco la porta modulare microSDXC con il controller del lettore di schede Realtek 5227S; tecnicamente si potrebbe parlare di memorizzazione espandibile!

Non è esattamente il tipo di possibilità di aggiornamento in cui speravamo, ma dobbiamo accontentarci di quello che passa il convento.
