Solution 2 - Change Drive Letter and Path

  • Experienced users will check whether their external hard drive shows up in Disk Management when they find Windows doesn't detect it. To open the Disk Management tool, you can right-click This PC (or My Computer in Windows 7) and choose Manage in the context menu to enter Computer Management, and then select Disk Management on the left.

  • Once the drive letter is missing, Windows cannot recognize this drive but we can see it in Computer Management window. Now, we have to assign a drive letter to the HDD to make Windows recognize it.

  • Right-click the external hard drive, and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths…

  • Click Add, and then pick a letter for the drive and click OK.

Soluzione 2 - Cambia lettera e percorso di unità

L'utente esperto verifica se il disco rigido esterno viene visualizzato in Gestione disco, se Windows non lo rileva. Per aprire lo strumento Gestione disco, fai clic con il tasto destro del mouse su Questo PC (Risorse del computer in Windows 7) e scegli Gestisci nel menu contestuale per entrare in Gestione computer, quindi seleziona Gestione disco.

Una volta che la lettera dell'unità è mancante, Windows non è in grado di riconoscere questa unità ma possiamo vederla nella finestra Gestione computer. Ora, dobbiamo assegnare una lettera di unità all'HDD per far sì che Windows lo riconosca.

Fai clic con il pulsante destro del mouse sul disco rigido esterno e scegli Modifica lettera e percorso unità...

Fai clic su Aggiungi, quindi scegli una lettera per l'unità e fai clic su OK.
