  • Do not touch the power supply. Be very careful not to touch the capacitor leads or any exposed solder joints on the back of the power supply (boxed in red).

  • boxed in orange, are diagnostic LEDs

  • LED 1 - Indicates that the trickle voltage from the power supply is detected by the main logic board. This LED will remain ON while the iMac is connected to the AC power. The LED will remain on even when the computer has been shut down or put to sleep. The LED will turn off only if the AC power is disconnected or the power supply is faulty.

  • LED 2 - Indicates that the main logic board has detected proper power from the power supply when the computer is turned on. This LED will be ON when the computer is turned on and the power supply is working correctly.

  • LED 3 - Indicates that the computer and the video card are communicating. This LED will be ON when the computer is communicating properly with the video card. If LEDs 1 and 2 are ON and you heard the startup sound, but LED 3 is OFF, then the video card might be installed incorrectly or need replacement.

  • LED 4 - Indicates that the computer and the LCD display panel are communicating. This LED will be ON when the computer is turned on and video signal is being generated. If the LED is ON and there is no image on the LCD display panel, the LCD display panel or inverter might be installed incorrectly or need replacement.

Non toccare l'alimentatore. Stai molto attento a non toccare le gambe dei condensatori o qualsiasi altra saldatura esposta sul retro dell'alimentatore (cerchiato in rosso).

I LED di diagnostica sono cerchiati in arancione:

LED 1: Indica che la scheda madre ha rilevato la tensione di mantenimento dall'alimentatore. Questo LED resterà acceso finché l'iMac è collegato alla corrente. Resterà acceso anche se l'iMac è spento o in ibernazione. Si spegnerà solo stacchi la corrente o se l'alimentatore è difettoso.

LED 2: Indica che la scheda madre ha rilevato la tensione corretta dall'alimentatore quando il computer è acceso. Questo LED resterà acceso quando lo è anche il computer e l'alimentatore funziona correttamente.

LED 3: Indica che il computer e la scheda grafica stanno comunicando. Questo LED resterà acceso se il computer comunicherà correttamente con la scheda grafica. Se i LED 1 e 2 sono accesi e si sente il suono di accensione, ma questo LED è spento, allora la scheda grafica può non essere installata correttamente o deve essere sostituita.

LED 4: Indica che il computer e lo schermo LCD stanno comunicando. Questo LED resterà acceso se il computer è acceso e il segnale video viene generato. Se il LED è acceso ma lo schermo non si accende, allora lo schermo LCD o l'inverter possono non essere installati correttamente o devono essere sostituiti.
