  • It's not the first smart speaker, nor the tallest, nor the most compact. But it's certainly the Apple-est.

  • Still, it keeps the basically cylindrical form factor typical of 360° smart speakers.

  • Perhaps the most apparent difference is that, unlike the Amazon Echo and Google Home, the HomePod packs an integrated power supply with a non-removable power cable. Update: Turns out it's removable if you pull hard enough.

  • No unsightly wall-wart transformer and Apple very well hid the fact that the cable is removable. (Or at least, it fooled us!) It does have a cool braided cord cover though.

Er ist weder der erste smarte Lautsprecher noch der größte noch der kompakteste. Aber er ist sicherlich der Apple-igste.

Wie alle anderen besitzt er die zylindrische Grundform typisch für 360-Grad-Lautsprecher.

Der vielleicht offensichtlichste Unterschied ist, dass er, anders als Amazon Echo und Google Home, ein eingebautes Netzteil mit fest verbundenem Netzkabel besitzt. Update: Zeigt sich, dass es doch rausgeht, wenn man nur fest genug dran zieht.

Kein hässlicher Trafo wölbt sich aus der Steckdose, und Apple hat die Tatsache , dass das Kabel doch abgesteckt werden kann, gut verborgen. (Zumindest haben sie uns drangekriegt!). Es hat einen schicken Textilmantel.
