The biggest difference between a Combat Machine Carbine and a Raider is the wiring. The Carbine is wired to the front, and holds a battery inside the handguard, while the Raider is wired to the rear, and holds a battery in the stock.

As you can see in the third picture, you can detach the rear wires from the gearbox after you remove the buffer tube.
