Insert a SIM card eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole in the SIM card tray, located near the side button on the edge of the iPhone.

Press firmly to eject the tray.

Oh. That’s how you do. I took the display out to reach the sim. Would have been sooooo much easier like this hack using this ingenious tool.

What you did, while being the more delicate and providing you with more knowledge of the inner layout of your iPhone, was actually the hack.
