During reassembly, perform the following to reapply thermal paste:

Use the flat end of a spudger to scrape off the thermal paste on the processor.

Follow this guide to clean the processor and replace the thermal paste.

The HTC Vive XR Elite uses a special viscous thermal paste. Regular thermal paste won’t provide proper cooling. Make sure to use an appropriate thermal like K5 Pro to replace the old thermal paste.
