Place the flat end of a spudger under the left edge of the connector's locking tab.

While holding the Surface Connect port with your fingers, push the connector out of its socket in the direction of the cable.

If this doesn't fully disconnect the connector, repeat this step for the right edge of the locking tab. Alternate between the left and right edge as needed.
