[title] Removing the strings
-[* icon_reminder] Put on safety glasses before beginning disassembly. Safety glasses should be worn when doing any project with a hazard of moving parts or caustic chemicals.
+[* icon_reminder] If desired, lay a cloth or towel on the table to avoid scratching the table or the surface of the guitar.
+[* icon_caution] Put on safety glasses before beginning disassembly. Safety glasses should be worn when doing any project with a hazard of moving parts or caustic chemicals.
[* black] To begin removing the strings, turn the first tuning peg clockwise. Once the string has loosened a bit, keep tension in the string with your opposite hand. This will keep the string coming out straight.
[* black] Once the string has unraveled, pull the end of the string out of the hole in the tuning peg.
[* icon_caution] The free end of the string is sharp. To prevent injury, use pliers to remove the string.
[* black] Follow the string down to the bridge of the guitar on the body. Push the string through the bridge so that it comes through the body of the guitar and out the back. Then, pull the string from the back through until it separates from the guitar.
[* icon_note] If strings are in good condition, set aside to reattached after cleaning.
[* black] Repeat the above steps for the remaining strings.
