[* black] Now the keyboard has to be removed. Locate the keyboards frame under the top cover. The keyboard’s frame is behind the backspace key and can be seen by looking through the space created between the top cover and the frame. It is a flat black surface. | |

+ | [* black] Using the flat portion of the plastic spudger, push the corner of the black surface until the first clip unlocks. The top right corner of the keyboard should now be sticking out slightly. |
+ | [* black] Using the same tool in the same manner as in step two, unlock the clips of the keyboard working from the top right corner to the top left corner. Now that all the clips are unlocked, slide the keyboard up and towards the screen just enough to separate the keyboard from the top cover. |
+ | [* black] Locate the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard and the motherboard. Use the pointed edge of the plastic spudger to unlock the plastic clamp holding the cable to the motherboard. |
+ | [* black] To do so, insert the pointed edge of the spudger between the clamp and the cable. Apply a slight leveraging force until the clamp pops up. Now the keyboard is fully detached from laptop. |
