[* black] Attach a suction cup to the front of the display.
[* black] Using the suction cup, pull the display and base apart. You may need to hold the base in position with your hands.
-[* icon_note] It's usually better to place the suction cup on the left or right side of the screen, rather than in the center. This provides more leverage when removing the screen.
-[* icon_reminder] During reassembly, before sealing the display in place, test all functions to make sure your repair worked correctly. To reattach your display:
- [* black] Use tweezers and a spudger to carefully remove all traces of the old adhesive. Heating the adhesive can help soften it, making it slightly easier to remove.
- [* black] Thoroughly clean the adhered areas using high concentration isopropyl alcohol (90% or greater) and a lint-free cloth or coffee filter. Wipe in one direction, not back and forth.
- [* black] Install strips of [product|IF317-072-1|Tesa 61395|new_window=true] or equivalent double-sided adhesive tape.
- [* black] Place your device screen-down on a clean surface, and place it under a heavy pile of books for up to 24 hours to help the adhesive bond correctly.
