[* black] Continue prying the screen by slowly sliding the plastic opening tool around the edges of the device until the screen loosens.

Every time you circle the device with the plastic opening tool, be sure to put increasing amounts of pressure to release the glass. Since the glass is being replaced, it is okay when it starts to crack. This may even make this step easier.
