There is a high chance trackpad and keyboard backlight will not be functional afterwards. Their firmware state appears to be corrupted without doing this step properly***

[* black] If the LED does not light, release the button after 5-10 seconds. Press and hold it again for 5-10 seconds, and release. Finally, press and hold it a third time for 5-10 seconds, and release.

+ [* black] If unfortunately have a failing trackpad and keyboard backlight after assembly. It s possible to repair. Requires loading original macOS shipped with MB followed by macOS upgrade. This likely reload the trackpad/keyboard firmware and eliminates the corruption from improper power down sequence prior to keyboard trackpad flex disconnect.
