[* red] Now that we have access to the usb port, we try to remove it and we hit a bump. It is being held down by a strip of black tape.
[* black] Using the pointy tip of the spudger we can maneuver the tape out of the way. Now the ribbon connected to the micro USB port is able to move around freely.
