[title] Replacement/soldering of the battery
[* black] The original battery is soldered onto a protection circuit on a small external printed circuit board (PCB) where two wires (red and black) attach to the motherboard.
[* black] On the PCB, the red wire (positively charged) is soldered near the battery’s positive post. The black wire (negatively charged) is soldered near the battery’s negative post.
- | [* black] You must then determine the (+) and the (-) of the new battery to correctly wire it to the PCB. You may need additional wires to solder the (+) and (-) of the new battery to the PCB (as the old battery was). The second picture shows the new battery, soldered with the small PCB, whose output is plugged (white plug). |
- | [* black] Once the battery is soldered, before remounting, charge the battery with the USB receiver on the Cybook Odyssey. Verify that the Cybook Odyssey functions properly when the battery is charged and the USB cord is unplugged. |
- | [* black] Proceed in the reverse order to remount the Cybook Odyssey. |
+ | [* black] Determine the positive and negative posts on the new battery in order to correctly wire it to the PCB. |
+ | [* black] You may need additional wires to solder the (+) and the (-) of the new battery to the PCB in the same way the old battery installed. |
+ | [* black] Solder the new battery to the small PCB, as shown in the second image. The PCB is plugged (white plug) |
+ | [* black] Charge the battery with the USB receiver on the Cybook Odyssey before mounting the battery onto the unit. |
+ | [* black] Verify that the Cybook functions properly when the battery is charged and the USB cord is unplugged. |
