[* black] Orient your laptop so you can access the bottom cover, with the fan vents facing upwards. | |
- | [* black] Unscrew the eight 6.0mm screws securing the bottom cover. They will not fully come out of the holes housing the screws, so just unscrew until there is no more resistance. |
- | [* black] Using your plastic opening tool, pry the bottom cover up, working along the edge of the laptop until it is fully separated. |
+ | [* black] Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to loosen the eight screws securing the bottom cover. |
+ | [* icon_note] They are captive screws and do not fully come out of the holes. Don't force them or you may damage the screws or holes on the bottom case. |
+ | [* black] Insert the end of an iFixit opening tool or opening picks into the seam between the bottom and top case to release the clips holding them together. |
