+[* black] With the 'top' LED side removed, and the cable extended, there is still a middle ring holding the case together. Lift it from the left side pictured, and carefully lift the right side of the cable from the plastic holder (that's part of the middle ring) to fully remove the middle ring section.
+[* black] ***Note, you don't need to remove the middle, but I found it easier to access the batteries this way.***

+[* black] ***Removing the middle ring removes the friction holding the power button in place. Mine fell out when I flipped the charger over. Re-insertion is easy by loosening the screws, and the button can only be inserted one way, indicated by a notch.***
