+[title] TECHNIQUE: Replacing a pocket slider - Sacrificial teeth
[* icon_note] ***Issue ***- A pocket zipper is missing a slider, or has a stuck slider, and there's no tooth or tape damage.
[* black] ***Technique ***- Remove a small number of teeth from the base of the zipper to create space to retrack a new slider.
[* black] If the slider remains, break it off.
[* black] Remove teeth from both sides at the base of the zipper. Take only as many teeth are necessary to retrack the new slider. Singe any fraying.
[* black] Put on a new slider where the teeth were removed, catching both sides of the zipper and slide it up.
[* black] Use a top stop or a hand stitch to lock off the bottom of the zipper.
[* icon_note] This technique is the quick fix alternative to a ''Sewn Zipper Slider Replacement'', where the stitching is opened at the base of the pocket to retrack a new slider.
