- | [* black] The top of the torch can be unscrewed revealing a battery case which can accommodate 3 x -- batteries. |
- | [* black] The torch is connected to another structure which is attached to the base of the lamp. It can be easily unscrewed and removed. |
+ | [* black] The torch slips out easily. The torch tube has mechanisms for it to be unscrewed manually from the top and bottom. The the tip of the torch is a conical plastic lens, which can be removed easily. Beneath that, there is some sort of PCB (?) board with a small bulb on it, with an on/off switch on the side. |
+ | [* black] The circumference around the PCB has 2 rubber bands that were removed with tweezers. The PCB can be lifted to reveal the battery ports. The bottom part of the torch was twisted off to reveal a conical spring, possibly what allows it to be ejected from the lamp. |
+ | [* black] The torch is connected to a supporting structure which is attached to the base of the lamp. It had an LED strip around it which was removed with tweezers, and had wire connections to the PCB board. |
+ | [* black] The PCB board was stuck, and so the connection point had to be cut with a pair of scissors. Furthermore the structure itself was difficult to separate, because there was a complicated hook type twisting mechanism, which could only be undone via damaging the hooks. |
