[title] Remove excess material from the stem
-[* black] Using a dremel, carefully remove some of the nylon all the way around until the bearing slides all the way down. This took about an hour, and I had the stem mounted on a vertical stick so I could rotate while using the dremel.
-[* black] Use rough sandpaper (~150) to smooth out the edges of the dremel wheel.
