-[* black] Check that the dc offset between the arrowed test points (of the same colour) is 0.25-15mV at start-up for both resistors when the speakers are not working (mine was a satisfactory 0.9mV). This shows that the speaker protection activation was not due to dc offset which could damage your speakers.
