[title] Testing the outlet thermistor
[* icon_note] If you aren't sure how to use a multimeter, take a look at [guide|25632|this guide|new_window=true].
[* black] Set your multimeter to the ohms (Ω) setting. If your meter has more than one scale for ohms (Ω), set it to (Rx1000).
[* black] Touch the probes to the contacts on the thermistor. The reading ***at room temperature*** (70°F/21°C) should be about 12.5–14.5 kΩ for a ***Whirlpool Duet ***dryer;
[* icon_note] Other models may have different values; 10 kΩ is common at room temperature (70°F/21°C) for another outlet thermistor (also called temperature control thermistor).
-[* black] If your thermistor reads outside the proper range or reads no continuity (OL) or 0.00 Ω, move to the next step to replace it. If not, you don't need to replace the thermistor. You may stop here.
+[* icon_note] If your thermistor reads outside the proper range or reads no continuity (OL) or 0.00 Ω, follow the next steps to replace it.
