+[* black] The center contact which had the black wire is the common terminal. It is common to both sections of the element. You will first check the resistance between the common terminal and each of the element terminals.
+[* black] The resistance should be about 20 Ω. If the resistance is less than 10 ohms, or greater than 25 ohms, you should replace the element.
