[title] Lift the battery
-[* black] Use your fingernails and fingers to peel the green middle pull tab off the battery.
-[* black] Slowly but steadily lift the pull tab straight up to loosen up the adhesive holding the battery in place. You may use your other hand to hold the phone down and keep the outer tabs out of the way.
- [* icon_note] If you're having trouble lifting the battery out of its recess, apply a [guide|25705|heated iOpener|new_window=true] to the screen for two minutes to soften the battery adhesive. A [guide|157348|hair dryer|new_window=true], [guide|151116|heat gun|new_window=true], or hot plate may also be used, but be careful not to overheat the device.
- [* icon_caution] Only apply heat to the screen to prevent the battery from overheating—not directly to the battery itself.
- [* icon_note] If the green tab should rip, you can use the outer tabs to pull out the battery including the adhesive foil underneath. Be aware that therefore this will take more time and probably some heat to soften the adhesive.
