[* black] Turn off device and turn upside-down, exposing the bottom panel of the device. Remove battery by pushing slide tabs towards the middle. This will unlock and unclip the battery from the device, then put aside.
[* black] Turn device back on to its upright position. Long-press the power button ensuring the device is drained of power. Then close and turn back to open bottom panel.
[* black] Remove the (size)screws around the bottom panel and set aside somewhere in a bowl or container, and make sure to take notes as to where each screw goes to which hole.
[* black] Remove 2 corner panels along the ends of the battery slot and this will expose another set of screws(1 each under each panel). Remove the optical drive by pulling on the plastic cover panel and this will enable you to pull and slide the drive out.
- | [* black] Grab a prying tool, and gently pry the back panel off, starting with the corners of the device and carefully slide the tool towards the middle and lifting the panel off at the same time. Once the bottom panel is removed, set aside somewhere safe. |
[* black] You will need to spread 2 clips open that hold the RAM down on its slot. Once both clips are spread apart, this will release the RAM and slightly spring upward in an angle. Pull the RAM away in the same orientation and keep in mind the notch, and match the new ram and gently install it in the same orientation with the notch in mind.
[* black] Once the new RAM is installed, gently press and lay the Ram down on its side until it reaches the clips on the side notches and it will hold the new RAM down. Do the same for the other DIMM/RAM if replacing or adding another RAM. Place everything back together by doing the steps in reverse order, starting with the back/bottom panel. |
