-[* orange] Locate the three clips that hold the metal case in place. Using the plastic opening tool, push down and pry towards the metal case to release each clip.

-[* icon_reminder] The volume control button rests in a slot on the side of the Kindle. When the metal case is removed, the volume control button may fall out. This is to be expected. Simply place it back in its slot when reassembling.
