| [* black] Once the old switch is removed cut off one of the new switches (first pic) and compare the two. Leave enough pin length. You can always cut it shorter after soldering. Make sure it fits in the hole and is roughly the same height as the old switch. | |
| [* black] Note: The holes in the board are much larger than needed, even for the old switches. I found it helped to bend the pins to keep them from falling out of the board when I flip the board over to solder it in. | |
| [* black] Put the new switch in and hold it in place with one hand. Use your other hand to bend the leads in opposite directions (bend it along the wide side of the rectangular leg (the easy way). The second pic shows the bent legs after one switch fell out before I could solder it. | |
| [* black] Solder one of the switch legs to the board. Then flip the board over and see if the switch is lined up with the switch outline drawn on the front of the board. If it doesn't look centered heat the solder and slide the switch a bit until centered. | |
