[title] Use the device before taking it apart
-[* black] SSL 2 is a very straightforward audio interface which can be operated intuitively. Every function has it's own analog control. It's a joy to use.
-[* black] The audio quality as ADC is superb. The preamp is very low noise and the gain is sufficient even for hard to drive dynamic microphones.
-[* black] DAC is very good too, but not high-end (comparing to NAD D1050). I notice the difference especially in the bass response.
-[* black] The headphone amp lacks a bit of power at high volume (adds some distortion) but is sufficient for most use cases.
-[* icon_caution] Use a headphone with a long cord — the headphone jack is at the back of the device, together with other I/O.
-[* icon_note] Tipp: When listening to the recorded sound, it's good to hear only the sound from the computer, not the mic. With my old interface, I was always turning the monitor blend control knob back and forth to achieve this. With SSL 2 there is a very nice way to ***mute the mic quickly: Just switch the mic channel input to "LINE".***
