[title] Examine the back of the PCB roughly
- | [* |
+ | [* black] The PCB is all black and has gold plated contacts and vias. SSL has two versions of this interface: SSL 2 and SSL 2+. The "+" version has more outputs and offers MIDI connectivity. For this reason, many components are missing from the circuit board shown here. Obviously, SSL uses the same PCB for both versions of the product. |
[* black] Although the input sockets are combined XLR/TRS, the signal paths are separate. Nice!
[* black] SSL uses high quality components throughout the product. Nice!
[* light_blue] The PCB is attached to the upper aluminium plate by nuts on the pots. I did not have time to disassemble the upper plate. There are some components lurking between the PCB and the top plate. Most likely, the main components are all on the back, and only a few smaller components are in that area. I will investigate this at some point. |
