-[* black] Remove excess bracket from the existing bracket. Make sure to remove parts of the bracket that are free of hardware or holes for fasteners. To assure a straight line, use a sharpie marker to mark the line.
-[* red] To cut a section, it will be easiest to use a hacksaw and a metal cutting blade, make sure you make perfectly vertical cuts for the remaining pieces to line up.
