+[* black] We skipped ahead a little, but you can actually remove this display as soon as the device is open.
+[* black] Four flex cables wrap over the hinge and tuck into the back of the frame, where they're covered by some prickly metal shields. Have to pry these off with care.
+ [* icon_caution] These cables aren't modular, so if you damage one, you'll be pulling a MacBook Pro and replacing the entire display.
+[* black] That said, once the shields are off, you can twirl away six Torx screws and this display is out. Easy peasy.
+[* black] We're close to freeing the motherboard at this point, but we're slowed down by screws hidden underneath more shields.
