-[* black] Having the plastic opening tool in hand, you can now start to remove the screen portion of your kindle from the rest.
-[* icon_caution] You will be prying the screen half of your kindle from the back half by using the plastic opening tool ***on the back*** of your kindle (not on the same side as the screen) as shown in the step 1 images.
-[* red] A good place to start prying is near, but not in, the headphone jack. Insert a medium to large plastic opening tool into the crevice, located on the back, between the two portions of your kindle.
-[* icon_note] For most effective prying, have the arrow on the underside of the plastic opening tool be closer to the back of the kindle than to the screen.
-[* blue] Push the top of plastic opening tool away from you so that the hook end of the tool can separate the two halves of your kindle. Repeat this several times until you are able to see a noticeable gap between the halves.
-[* icon_note] Pry each side equally so that your kindle does not bend in the process.
-[* black] As the gap between the halves of your kindle continue to grow, repeat the above step further along the sides until you are able to completely separate the screen half from the other.
-[* icon_note] Before pulling the two halves apart, proceed to step 2 to successfully detach them from one another.
+[* icon_caution] Do not pry from the screen side because doing so will damage the interior of the screen and it's components.
+[* icon_caution] Pry each side equally so that your Kindle does not bend in the process.
+[* red] Pry the screen half from the back half using the medium plastic opening tool and starting near, but not in, the headphone jack as shown.
+[* blue] For most effective prying, have the arrow on the underside of the plastic opening tool be facing the back side of the Kindle.
+[* icon_note] Once the two halve are separated, leave the flex cables attached.
