[* black] Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery off the adhesive securing it to the metal display tray.
[* black] Remove the metal display tray and set it aside.
[* black] Lay the battery flat in the rear panel.
+[* black] User note: I replaced the entire logic board on a pod, and UNLESS you are replacing the battery, you do not need to take it off. I replaced the battery, screen, and logic board all at once from a different iPod, and all this did was mar the battery when I didnt have to.
+[* black] DO NOT PERFORM THIS STEP UNLESS YOU ARE REPLACING JUST ONE PART OF THE IPOD. IT IS MUCH EASIER TO REPLACE THE SCREEN + BATTERY.
