This guide details removing the logic board in an iMac 4K in order to remove or replace the RAM. The guides were performed on a 2015 iMac 21.5 4K Retina Display but with minor adjustments can be used to work on a 2017 edition.

You will need to remove the logic board without removing the right speaker, and you will need to remove the microphone cable before removing the logic board screws.
Opening this device requires cutting through adhesive that will need to be reapplied after you finish the repair. Be sure to test your new RAM before sealing the iMac with the adhesive strips.
