Introduction |
If your Canary does not light up, this guide will show you how to replace the Infrared LED board. | | In order to access the power connector, you need to remove the aluminum heatsink. The four screws holding the heatsink in also hold the LED board in. There is a separate set of four screws which keeps the frame containing the LEDs in and these are not connected to the motherboard. Once removing the heatsink, do not let the LED board dangle as the power connector wires are fragile. | Remove the power connector from the LED board. Flip the board over and disconnect the power connector to the left of the buzzer (labelled "IR-LED MIC"). Then the heat sink can be removed, by removing the four screws holding together the frame. | | The power connector located by the buzzer goes to two solder points on the top of the Infrared LED board. BeUse extra carefulcare when removing the board as these wires are easily damaged and will require resoldering. Treat the wires carefully. |
