This is a guide to help replace the plastic headlight motor gear inside a 1986 Fiero. This will work with either the left or right side as they are identical, but I am changing the right headlight in the photos.

  • Ratcheting Socket Wrench x1 added.
  • 10mm Socket x1 added.
  • 10mm Wrench x1 added.

  • Needlenose Pliers x1 makes holding the seal in place as you close the casing easier added.
  • flathead screwdrivers x1 like a poking tool, helped my clean the old gear housing added.
  • Paper Towels x1 helps with grease added.
  • Adjustable Wrench x1 Could save a lot of pain or cause it added.
  • Nitrile Gloves x1 This is not a clean job, and the grease has to be worked into the gears maualy added.
